Co-created by Tammy Lai-Ming Ho (Hong Kong Baptist University) and Chris Song (Lingnan University), “Backreading Hong Kong” is an annual symposium which brings together scholars—emerging and established—to share their cross-disciplinary research and findings on the city that we call home: Hong Kong, and to ignite stimulating and rigorous discussion.
- The 2020 symposium (Friday 18 December 2020) was organised by Tammy Lai-Ming Ho and Chris Song (in collaboration with the Department of English at Hong Kong Baptist University and Cha: An Asian Literary Journal)
- The 2019 symposium (Saturday 19 January 2019) was organised by Tammy Lai-Ming Ho (in collaboration with the Department of English at Hong Kong Baptist University and Cha: An Asian Literary Journal)
- The 2018 symposium (Saturday 5 May 2018) was organised by Tammy Lai-Ming Ho (in collaboration with the Department of English at Hong Kong Baptist University and Cha: An Asian Literary Journal)
- The 2017 symposium (Saturday 7 January 2017) was organised by Chris Song (in collaboration with Voice & Verse Poetry Magazine).
